Thank you for your interest in the Speaking Examiner role for the Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE) exam. We are pleased to provide further details below.

The C1 Advanced (CAE) exam will take place on two Saturdays: 

Saturday 15 March 2025 (Speaking Test)

Saturday 22 March 2025 (Written Test (possibly speaking in the afternoon))

To qualify as a Speaking Examiner, you must:

• Have a C2 level of spoken English (according to the CEFR).
• Be a qualified, full-time English teacher with at least 3 years of recent, full-time teaching experience.
• Attend both a half-day training and a half-day certification session.

Training and certification sessions will be held in the months leading up to the exam, either on-site in Munich and Nuremberg or via live online webinars in exceptional cases. More details will be provided upon completing the nomination form.

Speaking Examiner CAE 2025 

As part of the process, all new examiners are required to complete a training session. 

Existing examiners who have not examined in the past 2 years need to complete a retraining session.

In case you have not had a chance to sign up for a re/-training session yet, we would like to offer the following dates:

As part of your annual certification as a Cambridge Speaking Examiner, we are inviting you to the Certification of Procedure (CofP) sessions in January — available both online and face-to-face. 

CAE Certification of Procedure sessions are scheduled on the following dates & times:
